Normally I don’t care for Budweiser commercials. They’re amusing, but they tend to stick to variations on a single joke. This one, however, features swearing — and that’s almost always funny.

Qashqai (again)
Another nice spot for Nissan’s (UK only) Qashqai:
I think this is a really nice evolution of their pre-launch viral push.
“Inspiration?”
SLOMing It
Peculiar anti-drug spot from Wieden + Kennedy. Read a little of the backstory on their blog. Edit: they removed the post.
As a teenager, I never found anti-drug messages particularly compelling (although I said no to drugs in high school). This seems to follow in that tradition; it’s very well made, entertaining, and it gets the message across with a little humor and a bit of ‘ick’, but I don’t have a big emotional reaction/a-ha moment by the end. I’d like to know if the concept was shared with the target audience and how they reacted…
*Update: Learn more about SLOMing here.
Qashqai
Nice viral-type campaign for the Nissan Qashqai. There are some interesting comparisons to be made here:
1. Compare the viral effort with the corporate effort.
2. Compare the 2004 concept and 2007 production models
There’s a notable dilution of the styling on both counts.
W+K+OCD = WOW
Wieden+Kennedy’s Portland office runs a very cool experimental ad school called WK12. Embracing Dan Wieden’s credo “You’re only good to me after you’ve made three tremendous mistakes”, the 12 gathered 150,000 push pins, what looks like a 10′ wall, and a little free time to deliver their message to the world, “Fail Harder”.
That looks like the kind of project, after about an hour into it, you wish you hadn’t started. Way cool.
CP+B Strikes Again
Love it.
